2010 Toyota Prius Spreading the Love to Lexus, Scion?
It's all just Web chatter right now, but if it's true, Toyota is set to spread the love called the 2010 Toyota Prius across its Scion and Lexus brands.
ToyotaMonitor.com's sister site AllAboutPrius.com says it believes the Prius is spawning at least two new cars in the near future, after it gets its world premiere at the 2009 Detroit auto show in January. The first one would be the new Lexus HS 250h, which has been confirmed with no additional info offered by Toyota. AllAboutPrius links over to some illustrations that suggest the Lexus version is a four-door body on conventional Prius running gear, possibly with an uprated engine and an upgraded interior.
Second up in the Prius family could be a new hybrid coupe that would counter the 2011 Honda CR-Z hybrid two-door already in the works. The new Honda's derived from the 2009 Honda Insight hybrid--and wouldn't the Prius coupe make a great successor to the Scion tC?
The 2010 Prius arrives in showrooms sometime early in 2009, and it's going to be slightly bigger and more powerful than the 2009 edition. There's no official specs yet, but AllAboutPrius thinks a four-inch-longer wheelbase and a bigger four-cylinder with 100 horsepower are in the new version, along with a better interior.
There's more to come in the next few weeks, before the Detroit auto show opens to the press on January 12. Until then, TheCarConnection.com has more photos of the 2010 Toyota Prius, and we'll keep an eye on AllAboutPrius.com for more details.

Great post. The hybrid market is sure bet to grow and it seems like it is the smart thing for car companies to spread the love across all of their brands. Besides, GreenCarReports.com reported on the fact that the Prius is the new "in" car for the high society.
